NZIER Poster Competition

Description

This competition is designed for students currently enrolled in post-graduate study that involves some component of original research. Most universities require that students make an oral presentation (usually supported by Powerpoint slides or similar) that outlines their research programme. This presentation is usually a 'work-in-progress' presentation that summarises the relevant existing literature, outlines the research problem/issue, discusses the research methodology including and methodological, data or theoretical problems related to the research.


Where results have already been gained these findings can also be included along with a brief discussion on the relevance of the research.

Entry Conditions

To enter the poster competition, students must be currently studying post-graduate economics.

Students that have recently completed a post-graduate qualification are invited to submit a paper from that work to the conference and enter for the Jan Whitwell Prize. Details of this are available through the Association website at www.nzae.org.nz The poster competition is for work in progress and the Jan Whitwell for work completed or near completion.

Selection Criteria

To be accepted for entry, posters must:

Poster presentations that meet all the above criteria (subject to space requirements) will be accepted for entry and displayed during the conference in the areas surrounding the main conference venues. Winners will be chosen based on the quality of the research (and coverage of the criteria) and the visual appeal of the presentation.
