2009 was a major milestone for the Association, marking 50 years since its inception in 1959. The 50th Anniversary Conference was held in Wellington’s James Cook Grand Chancellor Hotel on 1-3 July. A special 50th Anniversary Dinner was held in the Parliamentary Banquet Hall to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of the Associations Life members and Distinguished Fellows.
Members of the NZAE typically have a degree in economics or commerce and in the normal course of work use the tools of economic analysis as teachers, investigators or advisors on economic matters.
