The New Zealand Association of Economists Education Trust was established by a trust deed dated 5 September 1990 to create a charitable trust for the furtherance of education for the economics profession and the advancement of the members the New Zealand Association of Economists (Inc) and to encourage overseas speakers to come and lecture in New Zealand and for other related and associated purposes”.

The trustees at the time of establishment were Robert Allan Buckle, Julia Mary Crouch, Jan Louise Whitwell and Lewis Tudor Evans.

The specific objects of the Trust today are:

  1. the furtherance of education for the economics profession
  2. to encourage overseas speakers to come and lecture in New Zealand
  3. to assist the New Zealand Association of Economists Incorporated to further the charitable purposes set out in (1) and (2)
  4. for any other purposes within New Zealand relating to the advancement of education beneficial to the community which are charitable according to the laws of New Zealand

NZAE Membership

Members of the NZAE typically have a degree in economics or commerce and in the normal course of work use the tools of economic analysis as teachers, investigators or advisors on economic matters.
