Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct was adopted by vote of more than 60% of members at the NZAE AGM on 26 June 2025, with some members voting against.

The Code was presented alongside the following paragraph, which was incorrectly presented as a clause in the Constitution:

The Association recognises that no code can prescribe, in detail, every behaviour expected of a professional economist. This Code should be interpreted by taking into account the balance of responsibilities between clients, employers and their professional staff, and individual circumstances.

The NZAE Council will interpret the Code of Conduct as containing that paragraph.
